The games

Sixteen games so far - five puzzles to think through, six arcade games to react to, a card game to remember and a classic one to lay out, a pixel platformer to run through, a farm to grow and an asteroid belt to mine, all the kind you can pick up for a single round and put down again. New titles are added here as they are finished - each one built the same way: a single page, no install, no account.

What is Lynxy?

Lynxy is a small, independent collection of browser games. Every title is a static page: the code is sent to your browser once and then everything happens locally - the puzzle is generated on your device, your moves are handled on your device, and your progress is written to your own browser storage. There is no server holding an account for you, because there is no account.

A lot of the work goes into making sure the puzzles are fair: Sudoku boards are checked for a single solution, every Solitaire deal has been won by a solver before you see it, and every Mahjong deal is built so it can be cleared. The guides explain how, along with strategy for each game, and the about page tells the rest of the story.

Built for a phone first

Each game is laid out for a small screen before anything else: big touch targets, controls within thumb reach, and no layout that breaks when you rotate the device. On a laptop the same page spreads out and the keyboard works. Light and dark themes follow your system by default, and the switch in the corner overrides it for good.

Nothing to install, nothing to lose

Bookmark a game and it opens in about the time it takes to switch tabs. Close it mid-puzzle and the board, the timer and your notes are exactly where you left them next time. Clearing your browser data is the one thing that wipes the slate - there is no copy of it anywhere else.

How it pays for itself

The games are free and stay free. They are funded by ads from Google AdSense, shown on the pages around the games - nothing in a game is unlocked by an ad. If you accept it in the banner, Google Analytics measures how long the games are played; it does not load until you do. You can read exactly what that means in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, and change your mind at any time through .

Why play here

The things that make a browser game pleasant are mostly the things it does not do.

Instant start

No download, no install, no sign-up form. Tap a game and the first puzzle is already on screen.

Private by design

We run no database. Your boards, stats and settings live in your browser and are never sent to us.

Made for touch

Controls sit where your thumb is. On desktop the same page gets a wider layout and keyboard shortcuts.

Light and dark

Both themes are designed, not inverted, and your choice carries across every game on the site.

Questions

Do I need an account to play?

No. There is no account, no e-mail address and no login anywhere on Lynxy. Open a game and play.

Are the games really free?

Yes. Every game is free to play in full, with no paid levels, no timers to wait out and no purchases. Advertising is what covers the hosting.

Where is my progress stored?

In your own browser, using localStorage. That means it survives a reload or a restart on the same device and the same browser, but it does not follow you to another device - and clearing your browsing data erases it.

Does it work on a phone?

That is the main target. Every game is built mobile-first and works in any modern mobile browser; a tablet or a desktop simply gets more room.

Will there be more games?

Yes - Sudoku, Minesweeper, Snake, Block Drop, Memory Match, Mahjong, Maria and the Missing Coder, Nova Bricks, Harvest Hollow, Star Prospector, Lily Leap, Puffer Reef, Lynx Run, Gem Cascade, Solitaire and Pipe Flow are the first sixteen. New games appear on this page as they are finished, and each one keeps the same promise: one page, no install, no account.
