Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Short version. We do not ask for an account and we do not run our own servers or databases. Your games, your statistics and your theme stay in your browser. The third parties that can process data about you are Google Analytics, which measures how long the games are played and loads only if you press “Accept all”, and Google AdSense, which shows the ads that pay for the Site. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent to personalised ads in its own message before using cookies for them.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Lynxy (lynxy.io - the “Site”, “we”, “us”) and every game published on it handle information when you play. The Site is static: all pages, scripts and puzzles are delivered as files and run entirely in your browser. This one policy covers every game on lynxy.io; where a single game behaves differently, that is stated explicitly.

Questions about this policy or your data: lynxy.io@protonmail.com.

2. What we store on your device

We use your browser's localStorage to keep the games usable between visits. This information never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Two items are shared by the whole Site:

Each game additionally stores its own progress under its own name. For Sudoku that is:

For Minesweeper:

For Snake:

For Block Drop:

For Memory Match:

For Mahjong:

For Maria and the Missing Coder:

For Nova Bricks:

For Harvest Hollow:

For Star Prospector:

For Lily Leap:

For Puffer Reef:

For Lynx Run:

For Gem Cascade:

For Solitaire:

For Pipe Flow:

Games added later follow the same pattern and will be listed here. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

3. What we do not collect

4. Advertising and analytics

The Site is funded by advertising, and Google Analytics measures how it is used. Both are described below.

4.1 Google AdSense

Ads on the Site are served by Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited (for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) and Google LLC (elsewhere). Ads appear on the pages around the games; no game feature opens an ad, and nothing in a game is unlocked by viewing or clicking one.

Google and the vendors it works with may receive your IP address, device and browser type, language, the page you are on and the referring page, and record impressions and clicks to choose ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure performance and detect invalid traffic.

Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Visitors from these regions see a consent message provided by Google, a certified consent management platform under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. It lists the vendors and purposes and lets you accept, refuse or choose. Without your consent Google serves only non-personalised or limited ads, which still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention where the law allows. You can reopen that message at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link Google shows on the page.

How Google uses this data: how Google uses information from sites that use its services and how Google uses cookies in advertising. See the Cookie Policy for the cookies involved.

4.2 Google Analytics - only after you accept

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-PTDJ02SRNC) from Google Ireland Limited to understand how many people play, which pages they reach and how long they stay. The Google tag is loaded only after you choose “Accept all”. Before you answer the banner, and for as long as you stay on “Essential only”, Google Analytics requests nothing and sends nothing. Advertising features of Google Analytics are not used, and the property is not linked to AdSense.

Once you have accepted, the Site sends the standard page view and one additional event: an engagement ping every 30 seconds while the tab is active (shown and in focus) and you have used the page within the last five minutes. The ping carries the kind of page you are on and how many seconds you have been active on it. We do not report clicks, moves, games started or finished, scores, hints or anything you enter; your puzzle and your entries never leave the device.

Google additionally receives, as it does on any site using its tag, your IP address (used for coarse geolocation and not stored by Google Analytics 4), device and browser type, language, screen size and the referring page, together with the _ga cookies listed in the Cookie Policy. Google acts as our processor for Analytics and applies its own terms: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services. Data is retained in the property for 14 months. You can withdraw your consent at any time by choosing “Essential only” in Cookie settings: Analytics stops immediately and its cookies are deleted. Google's opt-out add-on or blocking googletagmanager.com works as well.

5. Hosting and server logs

The Site is served as static files by a hosting provider (for example Bitbucket Pages, GitHub Pages or a CDN). Like virtually all web hosts, the provider may automatically log requests, including IP address, timestamp, requested file and user-agent, for security and for operating the service. We do not control the retention of those logs and we do not use them to build a profile of you.

6. Legal basis (GDPR/UK GDPR)

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because we hold no personal data on any server of ours, requests about advertising and analytics data should be sent directly to Google. Anything stored locally can be deleted by you in your browser at any time. EU/EEA and UK residents may also complain to their supervisory authority.

8. Users in the United States

Residents of certain U.S. states (for example California) may have the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Choosing “Essential only” in the cookie banner, or opening Cookie settings and switching to it later, switches Google Analytics off. For ads, use the choices in Google's consent message or Google Ads Settings; where Google supports state privacy laws it also shows a “Do not sell or share” option.

9. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through an advertisement, please contact us and Google.

10. International transfers

Google and our hosting provider may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards those companies put in place, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Site, a game or our partners change. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be signalled by asking for your cookie choice again.
