Free online Minesweeper
Minesweeper is a logic puzzle played on a grid of covered tiles. A fixed number of mines is hidden underneath; every tile you open without hitting one shows how many mines touch it, counting all eight neighbours. From those numbers you work out where the mines are, flag them, and clear everything else. This version runs entirely in your browser - no account, no download, no waiting - and the first tile you open is always safe, so no game is ever lost on the opening click.
Three difficulty levels
The levels differ by board size and mine density, and each is worth a different number of points:
| Level | Board | Mines | Density | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 9 × 9 | 10 | 12% | 1 |
| Medium | 16 × 16 | 40 | 16% | 2 |
| Hard | 16 × 30 | 99 | 21% | 3 |
Points are added only when a board is fully cleared. Hitting a mine ends that board with no points - but a new one is one tap away and costs nothing.
Built for the phone
Tap a tile to open it and hold it for a moment to plant a flag; if you prefer, the Flag button switches taps to flagging permanently. On a computer, left click opens, right click flags, and clicking a number whose flags are all in place opens the rest around it - the "chord" that clears a board fast. The light and dark themes follow your device by default and can be switched at any time.
Your progress stays with you
The current board, your flags, the timer, your best time per level, your wins and your points are saved in your browser's local storage. Close the tab and come back later - the board is exactly as you left it.
