Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Short version. Play as much as you like, for free. The games are advertising-supported, if you agree we measure how long they are played with Google Analytics, your points live only in your own browser, and we provide everything “as is”.
1. Acceptance
By opening or using Lynxy (lynxy.io - the “Site”) or any game published on it, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
2. The service
The Site is a collection of free, static browser games. Everything runs in your browser - puzzles are generated on your device - and no registration is required and no purchase is necessary. Games may be added, changed or removed at any time.
3. Scores, points and saved progress
- Points and difficulty rules are defined per game and shown inside that game. In Sudoku, for example, a solved puzzle is worth 1 point on Easy, 2 on Medium and 3 on Hard, and each level has a mistake limit (3, 2 and 1 respectively) that ends the puzzle without points. In Minesweeper a cleared board is worth 1 point on Easy, 2 on Medium and 3 on Hard, and opening a mine ends that board without points. In Snake every fruit eaten is worth 1 point on Easy, 2 on Medium and 3 on Hard and a bonus star five times as much; points are added as you eat, so a game that ends still keeps them. In Block Drop one, two, three or four lines cleared at once score 1, 3, 5 or 8, multiplied by 1 on Easy, 2 on Medium and 3 on Hard, and are likewise kept when the game ends. In Memory Match a cleared board is worth 1 point on Easy, 2 on Medium and 3 on Hard, however many moves it took. In Mahjong a cleared board is likewise worth 1, 2 or 3 points by level, whatever help was used. Maria and the Missing Coder keeps no points: it counts the coffee beans you collect, and every fiftieth bean is an extra heart. In Nova Bricks every brick broken is worth 10 to 50 points by type and a cleared stage adds a bonus; points are added as you play, so a run that ends keeps them. Harvest Hollow counts coins instead of points: they are earned and spent only inside the game, cannot be bought, and are lost if the farm goes bankrupt or you start a new one. Star Prospector likewise pays in credits for the minerals you sell and the bounties you collect; they are spent on fuel, repairs and ship upgrades inside the game and cannot be bought. You can always start a new game immediately, at no cost.
- Points and progress are stored only in your browser's
localStorage. They are not an account, not a ranking and have no monetary value. - Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, switching browsers or devices, or a browser storage limit will erase your progress. We cannot restore it.
- We may change the scoring rules in future versions of any game.
4. Advertising and measurement
The Site is financed by advertising served by Google AdSense. By using the Site you agree that ads may be displayed on its pages, and that Google and its vendors may use cookies or similar identifiers as described in the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy section 4, subject to the consent choices available to you.
- Ads are supplied by third parties. We do not create, endorse or verify advertised products, services or websites, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser.
- Ads are shown on the pages around the games. No game feature opens an ad, and nothing in a game is unlocked or rewarded by viewing or clicking one.
- You agree not to interfere with the display of ads in a way that generates invalid traffic - for example, automated, incentivised or repeated artificial clicks. Such behaviour violates Google's policies and these Terms.
- Using an ad blocker is your choice and does not prevent you from playing, but ad revenue is what keeps the games free.
If you choose “Accept all”, we also measure how the Site is used with Google Analytics 4: page views and an engagement ping every 30 seconds while the tab is active and recently used. Nothing about your moves, games or scores is reported, and your puzzle, your entries and your notes are never transmitted. With “Essential only”, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Nothing here creates an account or a ranking, and you may block the measurement at any time - see the Privacy Policy section 4.2 and the Cookie Policy section 4.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, mirror, resell or redistribute the games as your own product;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Site or the systems that host it;
- use the Site in a way that breaks applicable law or infringes the rights of others;
- modify the code or stored values in order to misrepresent a game elsewhere (you are, of course, free to tinker with your own browser - it only affects your own copy).
6. Intellectual property
The name Lynxy, the lynx logo, and the layout, design, code and graphics of the Site and its games are protected by copyright and belong to their respective owners. Classic puzzle concepts such as Sudoku and Minesweeper are in the public domain. Block Drop, Nova Bricks, Lily Leap and Star Prospector are original games in well-known genres: their names, code, graphics, sounds and stages were created for Lynxy and are not affiliated with any other game or publisher. Maria and the Missing Coder is an original work: its code, pixel graphics (generated in code), synthesised sound, characters, names, worlds and story were all created for Lynxy. It belongs to the genre of 2D platformers and is not based on any particular title; it is not affiliated with, licensed or endorsed by any video game publisher or developer. If you believe any element of a game infringes your rights, write to the contact address in section 12, naming the element and the basis of your claim, and we will remove or replace it if the notice is well founded. Advertisements and their content belong to the respective advertisers.
7. Availability
The Site is provided without any guarantee of availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue it or any game, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice, including features, difficulty levels and scoring.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or that puzzles, hints and scores will always be error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for lost progress or points, or for loss arising from third-party advertisements. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected.
10. Children
If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Site only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows the current version, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
