Gem Cascade - a free match-3 puzzle
Gem Cascade is a match-3 game in the tradition of the classic jewel puzzles: a board full of rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds, topazes and amethysts, and one simple move - swap two neighbouring gems so that three or more of the same kind line up. They shatter, the gems above fall into the gap, new ones drop in from the top, and if the fall lines up another row, it clears too. It is built for the phone first and plays in your browser, with no download and no account.
Line, Bomb and Prism gems
Four in a row make a Line gem that clears a whole row or column when it is matched. An L or a T shape makes a Bomb gem that blows up the eight gems around it. Five in a row make a Prism: swap it with any gem and every gem of that colour on the board is gone. Swap two special gems into each other for the big combinations - two Line gems clear a cross, a Line and a Bomb clear three rows and three columns, and two Prisms clear the whole board.
Ice, stones and chains
Every level has its goals, and there is no limit on moves: you play until they are reached. Frozen tiles thaw when a gem on top of them is cleared - thick ice needs two hits. Stones crack when you make a match right next to them, chained gems cannot be moved until you break the chain by matching them, and some levels ask you to collect a number of gems of one colour or to reach a score.
Stars, boosters and the Gem Rush
Each level has a par: finish within it for three stars, a little over it for two, and any finish earns one. Every move you save under par turns into a Line gem that goes off in the Gem Rush. Boosters help when you are stuck: the Hammer smashes a single gem, Lightning clears a row and a column, and Shuffle mixes the board, and none of them costs a move. You earn new ones by finishing levels, and when one runs out you can take one more for free, once per level. Your stars, best scores and boosters are saved on your device.
