Free online Nova Bricks - a modern brick breaker

Nova Bricks is the brick breaker everyone knows: keep a ball bouncing with a paddle at the bottom of the screen and smash every brick in the wall above. This version is built for the phone first and plays directly in your browser, with no download and no account. Swipe anywhere on the field to move the paddle - it follows the motion of your finger, so your thumb never hides the ball - and tap to launch. On a computer, steer with the mouse or the arrow keys.

Fifty stages, each one a picture

The bricks are not just rows: they form a heart, a space invader, a rocket, a crown, a lynx, a snowflake, a spiral, a skull, a trophy, a planet with its ring and forty more shapes. Later stages add armoured bricks that take two or three hits, steel that only a fireball can melt, bombs that blow up everything around them and mystery bricks that always drop a power-up. The last stage, The Core, has all of them at once.

Power-ups

Broken bricks sometimes drop a glowing capsule. Catch it with the paddle:

• MMulti-ball - every ball splits into three.
• WWide paddle - 60% wider for 16 seconds.
• FFireball - burns straight through every brick, even steel.
• IIce ball - freezes a block of up to 3 × 3 touching bricks, which shatter a moment later.
• LLasers - the paddle fires twin beams on its own.
• CMagnet - the ball sticks to the paddle until you tap.
• SSlow motion - every ball slows down by 30%.
• +Extra life - rare, up to six lives.
• −Tiny paddle - the one to dodge.

Progress that stays on your phone

Every stage you clear unlocks the next, and you can start a run from any stage you have reached. A run is saved at the start of each stage, so if you close the tab you continue where you left off, with your score and lives. The game pauses by itself when you switch apps.
